After turning to alternative medicine in the early 1980’s, Kim has realized, firsthand, the power of healing and liberation from chronic pain through meditation which opened the doorway to her mystical journey. Her transformation in overcoming serious near-death injury, illness, and life events has allowed her to free her consciousness and acquire the knowledge to release pain and suffering within herself, and in turn, to help others. After completing B.K.S Iyengar’s training and acquiring a certification in Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, Kim decided that both of these paths were essential to one another and to her evolution. Kim decided not to choose a particular tradition and instead chose to follow the path of inner contemplation and direct experience which comes from a committed Sadhana. This led her to the Tantric practice of Surat Shabda Yoga and is where the innermost teachings of mystical yoga, tantra, and secrets for a happy life were revealed. The essence of this devotional practice is in contemplation of inner sound. Through turning the senses inward, and connecting with the Nadaam, or vibrational sound current of life, her innate realization of the soul’s song manifested in her outer gifts of word, music and message. She is a portal for healing, a pathfinder for awakening, and a bridge for those seeking connection. Kim is also a musician in the Sacred Angels Kirtan Band. She has been playing the piano since she was eight years old and brings her deep, melodic voice, harmonium, harmonica and percussion rhythm to the Sacred Angels' unique sound.
